for Sustainable Food System

20–22 May 2026
Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, Thailand

The Department of Agricultural Economy and Development, Faculty of Agriculture, Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Faculty of Economics, Kasetsart University, is honored to host the 3rd ASEAN University Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems.

This international academic forum brings together leading universities and scholars from across Southeast Asia to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in the areas of sustainable food systems, agricultural economics, and bioeconomy development. The symposium aims to strengthen regional partnerships and promote innovative research that contributes to sustainable and resilient agri-food systems.

The bioeconomy is an economic model based on the use of renewable biological resources (such as plants, animals, and microorganisms) to produce food, energy, materials, and chemicals. Rather than relying primarily on fossil sources, it proposes partially replacing them with bio-based alternatives, thereby promoting low-carbon growth.
